Computer Applications for Business with Lab (online)
For DeVry University College of Engineering and Information Systems(2009-current) This course covers computer operating systems and Microsoft Office 2007 with specific emphasis on using Word, Excel, PowerPoint in the business environment. This course is production intensive. Phase III Core course. Meets the Iowa certification requirement for the audio-visual/media/computer technology component.
ED 352 Technology in Education at the University of Dubuque (1998 - 2004)
Technologies used for learning and instruction in K-12 setting. Emphasis on using the broad technological environment, current trends and issues, evaluations and effectively integrating technology into instruction. This course is production intensive. Phase III Core course. Meets the Iowa certification requirement for the audio-visual/media/computer technology component.
MBA 610 Managing Information Technology
The purpose of this course is to prepare advanced
management students to be effective exploiters of computer/communication
technologies now and in the future. It’s
focus is on the opportunities and pitfalls provided by these technologies; the
resources that organizations provide and alternative approaches to managing
them; and what the user-manager needs to know to make effective use of these
technologies. The course takes a
business perspective: How can IT be deployed to achieve increased efficiency,
increased effectiveness and/or competitive advantage?
Special Methods in Education - Science
Course Description: Goals, content, materials, and teaching strategies for secondary science teaching. The general purpose of the course is to allow the student to apply educational theories, philosophies, and methods learned in other courses and to begin to apply them to a classroom situation. The classroom field experience should allow for a variety of educational experiences including the preparations and presentation of a lesson under the cooperating teacher’s supervision.
Student Teacher Supervision
Assessment and guidance of Secondary Education Student Teachers in the area of Science for 15 weeks per semester.
General Chemistry Lecture and Lab (CH 111 and CH 112)
The purpose of these introductory first-year
chemistry courses is to provide students with a foundation in general
and descriptive chemistry. Topics
include the structure and properties of elements and compounds,
classifications and characteristics of reaction types and a study of the
various states of matter.
